TheatreFor is thrilled to announce the launch of our brand-new development initiative:
Next Stage, a program dedicated to nurturing new work and supporting playwrights at
every level of experience. Next Stage offers playwrights the opportunity to have their
scripts read and thoughtfully evaluated by a team of qualified adjudicators. Through
constructive critiques based on a clear rubric, participants will receive actionable feedback to help guide their work forward — whether that means revising their script, submitting for a staged reading, or even moving toward a full production.

In addition, playwrights will receive a curated list of theatres across the country currently
seeking new works that align with their submission needs — helping to open doors
beyond TheatreFor.

If you are interested in joining our project as a reader/adjudicator, please send an email
to nextstage@theatrefor.com with your name, email address, phone # and a brief note
detailing your theater experience. The plan is to put together small groups of readers
to adjudicate the works, discuss within the group and present a recommendation to
co-directors Mike Cote and Peter Balaskas. We will begin requesting submissions shortly,
so the formation of the groups will need to happen rather quickly. Next Stage is a
wonderful opportunity for anyone wishing to become actively involved with the creative
process of script development.
